The Importance of Surface Sanitizer in Day Care

By admin on April 2nd, 2009

A day care facility that does not practice good hygiene can become a haven for illness and disease to the children and staff, alike. Babies and toddlers are notorious for putting virtually every item that comes within their reach in their mouth. If your day care center does not properly sanitize its toys and furniture, you are indirectly assisting in the spread of infectious diseases such as the common cold and flu, head lice and diarrhea. Having a good surface sanitizer is your first line of defense when it comes to keeping your children and worker’s healthy. There are numerous products on the market that work well in removing bacteria and germs from surface areas. Many of these products disinfect on contact. You simply spray them on the surface and wipe off with a clean paper towel. Hand sanitizer is vital as well. Many great products available now do not even require water. Buying hand sanitizer dispensers and mounting them on the wall of each classroom is a great idea for making hand washing quick and convenient without the hassle of having to make numerous trips to the bathroom sink.

Activity Tables for Day Care Organization

By admin on April 1st, 2009

Organization is vital for running a smooth day care facility. Any time you have a large group of children in one place, things can become chaotic. Keeping things such as paper, glue, scissors, tape and other craft supplies in a designated spot can make a huge difference in determining rather your day runs smooth or falls apart. Activity tables are a great idea for keeping supplies handy, but out of the way. Many activity tables come with wooden table tops that can be lifted up so that supplies, such as paper and writing utensils can be stored inside. They come in a variety of sizes, ranging from toddler style, with only one individual chair and desk to larger work areas where multiple children can sit around one table. If your center is looking to add more games, some great activity tables on the market today are actually made with games built in. Toddlers love the playing with wooden beads, but they can be dangerous if swallowed. Activity tables with wire attachments that allow beads to slide up and down without coming off is a great concept that provides hours of play, but keep the children safe and the room tidy.

Appropriate Classroom Furniture for Every Day Care

By admin on March 31st, 2009

Classroom furniture and accessories are very important when you own a daycare center. The parents are going to expect safe, comfortable classroom furniture for their children to enjoy during the time they are in the facility. Parents expect their children to have exposure to a nurturing environment where their minds and bodies can grow and learn. You should have enough classroom  furniture that every child has his or her own crib, chair, table space, etc. In fact, you should have a few extra on hand in the event of a visitor or if a crib or chair breaks or becomes soiled and needs to be removed for any period of time. A good idea to determine how your day care center looks to parents and children, both, is to take a good look at it after hours, when no one else is there. Ask yourself a few questions. Does your facility have safe toys and a big enough quantity for the entire group of children to play? Are the toys and materials at your center clean and in good condition? Are the toys age appropriate for the children who have access to them? It is imperative that the toys in the toddler room are safe for toddlers and so on.

Transform Your Deck into a Party Place with Outdoor Patio Furniture

By admin on May 27th, 2008

If you have a large deck or patio, or have a beautiful landscaped yard then you have the perfect place to hold some great summer parties.  You can use outdoor patio furniture to transform your patio or yard into a fun outdoor party space.  The outdoor patio furniture that you use to decorate your outdoor party space is the key to making it a comfortable fun place for your friends and family to hang out.  You can use some nice outdoor sofas made from rattan or teak to provide a comfortable lounging space.  Using modular seating on the patio or deck is a smart thing to do because modular seating is easy to move and you can change the seating patterns based on how much seating you need.  You can also construct some nice benches in appropriate places outdoors. Covered with thick outdoor patio furniture cushions these benches can be a great place to store all the equipment you’ll need for your outdoor parties like citronella candles, Moroccan lamps, extra blankets, extra cups and other items.  If you have a large backyard grill you should put a heavy outdoor table and chairs near the grill so that people have a convenient place to sit and eat. It’s also a good idea to put a small fridge near the grill to hold cooking sauces and other condiments that the cook might need when making dinner.  An outdoor bar can be a lot of fun for making tropical drinks on a warm summer night.  Use some nice outdoor patio furniture to set the tone of your tropical bar. Instead of going with traditional pub tables and bar stools to make the bar area more inviting use papasan chairs with thick cushions and small tables or large overstuffed chairs.  Adding some tikki torches or Chinese lanterns for outdoor lighting can add a festive air but if you want something more classical use white holiday lights strung in the bushes and trees and candles to provide a softer light.

The more comfortable and inviting your outdoor space is the more that people will want to spend time out there.  You can make your home the party spot for the summer, the place where all your friends and loved ones want to spend those long summer evenings having good food and good drinks and spending time with the people they care about.  Using the right outdoor patio furniture is the best way to carve your patio or deck into different areas where people can relax.  You can create a lovely conversation area, a forma dining area, and a place to just relax.  Hammocks and swing chairs are also fun to add to your outdoor décor. If your loved ones have a lot of kids that will be coming over you should also make a kid friendly area of the patio with smaller, more durable outdoor patio furniture that will stand up to anything that kids can throw at it.  Making your patio a beautiful, comfortable place will make you the envy of all your friends.
